Power and sockets in Seychelles
Seychelles run 240 volts at 50 hertz, and the sockets are British: type G with three flat pins. Coming from continental Europe, you need an adapter.
- Voltage
- 240 V, 50 Hz
- Plug type
- Type G (British, three flat pins)
- Adapter needed
- yes, from continental Europe
Bring the adapter rather than buying one there — on La Digue and the smaller islands it is not available everywhere. A power strip behind a single adapter is more practical than four adapters. Laptop and charger power supplies handle 240 volts anyway; only fixed-voltage appliances need a converter.
Before you book
Three islands in seven nights?
It is the most common mistake in Seychelles. Every island change costs half a day, and the transfer days land in the middle of the trip. One conversation beforehand prevents it.
