How long, how many islands, what does it cost?

The three questions that come before any Seychelles trip — and on the last one we give no figure, but say what sets it.

How many islands should you combine?

Two islands for seven nights, three for ten to fourteen. More is not a richer trip but one with more luggage days — every island change costs half a day, and it lands right in the middle of the holiday.

One week in Seychelles

A week is enough for two islands, not three. The strongest combination for seven nights is Praslin and La Digue — fifteen ferry minutes apart, with the transfer from Mahé falling on arrival day rather than into the middle of the trip.

Two weeks in Seychelles

Two weeks is the length at which three islands work and Mahé finally becomes more than the island you land on. The order that costs the least time: Mahé last, because the return flight leaves from there.

What does a Seychelles trip cost?

There is no price on this page, and that is deliberate: a published figure would be wrong for almost everyone. What can be said is the structure — which item sets the price, and which decision actually moves it.

Seychelles on a smaller budget

Seychelles have a reputation for being expensive, and that holds for the way most people travel here. Cook for yourself, take the bus and fly in February, and it costs a fraction — with the beach being exactly the same beach.

Before you book

Three islands in seven nights?

It is the most common mistake in Seychelles. Every island change costs half a day, and the transfer days land in the middle of the trip. One conversation beforehand prevents it.
