Vaccinations for Seychelles

No vaccination is required to enter Seychelles. The single exception is proof of yellow fever vaccination if you are arriving from a yellow-fever area, or transited one for more than twelve hours.

Dangers in the water: currents, sea urchins, sharks

The real danger in the water is currents, not sharks. On open bays such as Grand Anse on La Digue or Anse Intendance on Mahé the southeast trade wind builds heavy surf with undertow, and that is where people drown — on beaches that look harmless in photographs.

Medical care in Seychelles

The only hospital that handles serious cases is Seychelles Hospital in Victoria on Mahé. Praslin and La Digue have smaller facilities for everyday matters; anything larger is transferred to Mahé or abroad.

How safe are Seychelles?
