Mahé
Anse Royale
Anse Royale lies on Mahé's east coast and is protected by a reef offshore. The water is shallow and calm, which makes it the most dependable family beach on this side of the island.

- Bus from Victoria, on the coast road
Between May and September an onshore wind can bring seaweed in — no cause for concern, but it does not look the way the brochures do. The position on the coast road brings a bus connection and a few shops, which here is more useful than the seclusion of the southern beaches.
