Anse Lazio in the northwest of Praslin is the beach on most Seychelles photographs. It opens northwest, so it is calm in the trade wind from May to September — and at its busiest then too.

Early morning or after four in the afternoon makes an enormous difference: in between, the day boats from Mahé arrive. The granite boulders at both ends of the bay are the actual reason this beach looks unlike tropical beaches elsewhere. Two restaurants at the edge, otherwise no infrastructure.
