Mahé
Police Bay
Police Bay lies on Mahé's southernmost coast near Quatre Bornes village, about 21km from Victoria, and no offshore reef breaks the swell here. The bay opens southeast and therefore takes the ocean swell largely unbroken, unusual for a beach on Mahé.

- Calm
- December to March, in the northwest monsoon
- Safety
- May to September, in the southeast trade wind, expect stronger surf and currents on this southeast-facing bay — less suitable for small children or weak swimmers in that period.
- Access
- Paved road to parking, short walk to beach
The water is deep with strong wave action, so this is not a swimming beach. It's a recognised local surf break, most active from June to August when the southeast trade winds pick up, with calmer conditions typically in April–May and September–October. Photographers are drawn to it for the wild, undeveloped scenery, and it remains one of the least-developed, least-visited beach areas on Mahé. A paved road leads to a parking area about 2km away, then it's a short walk down to the beach.

Three islands in seven nights?
It is the most common mistake in Seychelles. Every island change costs half a day, and the transfer days land in the middle of the trip. One conversation beforehand prevents it.
