Grand Anse (Praslin)

Grand Anse (Praslin), locally also known as Fond de l'Anse, is the longest beach on the island at about 2km, on the south-east coast next to Praslin International Airport in the Grand'Anse Praslin district. The bay opens south-east and therefore sits in the lee from December to March.

Safety
May to September, in the southeast trade wind, expect stronger surf and currents on this southeast-facing bay — less suitable for small children or weak swimmers in that period.

Rental car, on foot from hotels, or bus

An offshore fringing reef keeps most of the bay shallow and calm, good for swimming, snorkelling and windsurfing, with equipment for rent at the beachfront hotels. From May to September, in the south-east trade season, seaweed can drift into the bay; some hotels shuttle guests to Côte d'Or when that happens. Several hotels line the shore, but the beach is long enough that it rarely feels crowded, with room to find a stretch to yourself.

Three islands in seven nights?

It is the most common mistake in Seychelles. Every island change costs half a day, and the transfer days land in the middle of the trip. One conversation beforehand prevents it.
