Praslin
Anse Kerlan
Anse Kerlan is a stretch of public shoreline at Praslin's northwestern tip, broken by rock breakwaters into a string of smaller sand pockets after years of erosion. The coast faces open water to the northwest, so there is no continuous reef to soften the swell and the seabed drops away close to shore.
- Island
- Praslin
- Faces
- northwest
- Calm
- May to September, in the southeast trade wind
- Safety
- December to March, in the northwest monsoon, expect stronger surf and currents on this northwest-facing bay — less suitable for small children or weak swimmers in that period.
- Access
- By road, parking along the coast road
The Constance Lemuria resort sits at the southern end of the shore, but the beach itself is public, reached by parking along the coast road. Currents run strong and the water deepens fast, so this is not a beach for children. What holds people here is the view: Cousin and Cousine, both protected nature reserves, lie directly offshore, and the open westward angle gives clear sunsets. Despite easy road access and facilities nearby, the beach usually stays lightly visited.

Three islands in seven nights?
It is the most common mistake in Seychelles. Every island change costs half a day, and the transfer days land in the middle of the trip. One conversation beforehand prevents it.
