Silhouette Island
Silhouette has no airstrip; the only way there is a boat from Bel Ombre on Mahé, about 45 minutes each way, or a 15-minute helicopter flight. The island rises to 751 metres at Mont Dauban, keeps 93 percent of its land inside a national park, and has around 25 permanent residents in one village, La Passe.

Silhouette is the third-largest granitic island in Seychelles: young syenite rock, about 63 million years old, covered mostly in mountainous rainforest across roughly 20 square kilometres. 93 percent of the island lies inside Silhouette National Park, declared in 2010, and the surrounding waters form the Silhouette Marine National Park from 1987. The Island Conservation Society protects the Seychelles sheath-tailed bat here, one of the rarest mammals in the world, along with the endemic, critically endangered plant Impatiens gordonii. A small permanent population, two resorts and the national park administration share the island; the Dauban family ran coconut plantations here from the mid-1800s to 1960, and their old plantation house is now a small museum.

Three islands in seven nights?
It is the most common mistake in Seychelles. Every island change costs half a day, and the transfer days land in the middle of the trip. One conversation beforehand prevents it.
