Round Island
Round Island lies inside Sainte Anne Marine National Park, about 5 kilometres off Victoria on Mahe - not the same island as the Round Island near Praslin. It measures 0.3 by 0.15 kilometres, reachable by speedboat in 10 to 15 minutes, and carries a single resort where a leprosy settlement once stood.
- Location
- Off northeast Mahe, within Sainte Anne Marine National Park

- About 0.027 km² (0.3 by 0.15 km), highest point 26 m
- Population
- 10 residents (2014 census), now the JA Enchanted Island Resort
- Access
- Speedboat only, about 10-15 minutes from Mahe
The island is granitic, and its high point, Mount Round, rises 26 metres. Patients with leprosy lived here from 1919 to 1930, moved from the other Round Island's settlement near Praslin after the governor judged that site too isolated. The surrounding Sainte Anne Marine National Park, created in March 1973 as the first marine park in the Indian Ocean, covers six islands and holds some of the largest seagrass meadows in the granitic Seychelles, where green turtles feed and hawksbill turtles nest on neighbouring Ste Anne; fishing and water-skiing are banned throughout. A Seychellois family of Indian heritage bought the island in 2005, and the JA Enchanted Island Resort opened in December 2013 with ten villas, a restaurant and bar, and a spa on the hill.

Three islands in seven nights?
It is the most common mistake in Seychelles. Every island change costs half a day, and the transfer days land in the middle of the trip. One conversation beforehand prevents it.
